This review is from: Schwinn Women's Lakeshore Bicycle (Purple) (Sports) This bike looks wonderful. I was so excited to try it out. I had a friend who works on bikes put it together for me, which wasn't hard. It's mostly put together when it comes. The very first time I took it out, I shifted gears and the entire gear mechanism fell off into the spokes and bent the fender so it was sitting on top of the wheel which instantly stopped the bike, causing me to fall off. It's a good thing I was not going very fast or I could have been seriously hurt. I was able to return it with no problem, but will be trying a different brand when I purchase my next bike. After raising the seat, it's a great ride. We also bought one for our 22 year old daughter and she's very happy with her bike as well. I especially like the white wall tires, and the white fenders...very retro. It didn't take my husband long to put it together...there were a few minor scratches on the fender. This review is from: Schwinn Women's Lakeshore Bicycle (Purple) (Sports) The bike came sooner then they said it would.I didn't have any holes in the boxes or scratches on the bike.The assembly was very miner.Handle bars, pedals,seat and front tire,brakes and back tire were all mounted.I have rode this bike daily 2 miles per day with some hills no problem the gears work very smooth.I am 48 years old and a smoker so that says alot for the bike.I purchased a wicker basket and also a bell it looks very retro.But I will say it is heavy and I have a hard time putting it on my bike rack.But even thats getting easier,all and all I couldn't be happier with this purchase.the bike is even prettier than the picture.
